Mount Richmore Village Estate’s site lends itself to create a Village Estate in the true sense of the word. The Architectural Design Philosophy developed for the development, known as Organic Contemporary Architecture, will tie the village concept together.
Mount Richmore Village Estate will enhance the old Salt Rock, Shakas Rock and Sheffield villages in the same way as new Umhlanga Ridge and Gateway Developments did for the old Umhlanga Rocks Village. The Architectural Design Philosophy is described as follows:

Mount Richmore Village Estate will be an harmonious environment integrating landscape with the buildings from the overall scale of development down to individual homes. Form will follow function and respond to the forces of the site's climate, its location, its history and even its future.
The main emphasis of the Mount Richmore Village Estate development is that it will be selfsustainable. Certain areas of the development will include an Urban Meander with narrow cobblestone streets. This Retail Residential meander with shops on the ground floor and residences above the retail outlets will create a wonderful shopping attraction for tourists, visitors and residents alike. The development is also a great opportunity for first time homeowners as some single residential sites are well priced starting from R695 000.00 per opportunity increasing in price up to R1, 550 000.00 for the sea view sites. There are therefore affordable options as well as investment options available to the full spectrum of the property market. The Medium Density Sites are well priced for Secondary Developers to develop smaller security villages within the greater development. These development launch prices are at least 15% below the existing prices of sites that are available on the North Coast of KZN. This will enable the secondary developers to purchase investment opportunities (transferable from the Developer by April 2009) with enough profit available for them to develop the sectional title villages.
These sectional title villages will be available to sell off by the secondary developers as soon as July 2009 (off plan sales) with transfers to home owners being possible by November/December 2009.

A Hotel site adjacent to an Eco-lodge site has been established in the secondary villages, with a central amphitheatre on the lake in close proximity to the Hotel.
